SBI Holdings(SBI), a listed Tokyo Japanese financial services conglomerate, made an additional investment in LastRoots, a privately-held Japanese cryptocurrency Exchange developer, for an undisclosed sum, according to the announcement.
LastRoots raised over JPY 600m(USD5.5m) via its ICO in July 2016 and develops its cryptocurrency Exchange.
c0ban is named as LastRoots’ cryptocurrency.
SBI already started its investment in LastRoots further to boost SBI’s digital asset business in late last year.
LastRoots is aiming at FSA-registration for its cryptocurrency Exchange via strengthening a relationship with SBI Group.
SBI’s FSA-registered Virtual Currencies already launched a cryptocurrency spot trading service VCTRADE in this June.
SBI has a market cap of about JPY 630bn(USD 6bn) .
