Quanta, an Isle of Man-based regulated lottery project operator, participated as a sponsor at ICE Africa Gaming Summit, which was held in late October in South Africa, according to its SNS.
Quanta’s Chief Technology Officer Kostas Farris joined in the conference as an invited panelist on 25 October.
Titled “Blockchain in Africa: A pipe dream or dream come true?” the discussion was focused on whether the African industry is ready for the introduction of blockchain technology to benefit its different users, or the lack of regulations and education would make it infeasible in the African market.
Kostas, along with other panelists, talked the pros and cons of introducing the technology to the market, while discussing the adoption of blockchain technology in the gambling market and the interest and acceptance of cryptocurrencies.
An organiser for this event was Clarion Gaming which is specialised in global gaming industry for exhibitions and conferences.
