Blockchain Business Community(BBC), a Japan-based study group with a primary focus on the blockchain’s business adoption, organised its meetup titled as “Token Economy Series No.1 -Utility Token” in Shibuya Tokyo, on June 5.
BBC’s Researcher Pengfei Wang made a speech on Top-30 tokens and current situation of blockchain education in universities during the event.
China is among the active countries in the blockchain technological development space, along with US, though ICO has been banned since last year, Wang noted.
Waseda’s Researcher Jack Xie and Altdesign’s Chief Analyst Shuhei Fujise also talked on the Token Economy’s impact on existing financial systems, with an analysis on token market in China and Japan.
While Xie agreed with Wang and added that Chinese government is still supportive on the blockchain technological advancement, Fujise noted that government/ corporate-backed tokens may gain the popularity, partly given the preference on its expected liquidity and stability in the Japanese crypto market.
Networking event was also taken place after the presentations.
The number of attendees was about 100.
BBC will also plan holding Token Economy Series meetup in July and August as below.
